About

Attorney Chelsea Nicholson is the senior partner of Nicholson and Hall, PLLC. She graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with her Bachelor of Science degree in political science in 2005. She obtained her law degree in 2009 from the Nashville School of Law. She actively volunteers with Nashville School of Law Moot Court and Legal Research and Writing. Chelsea interned at the Public Defenders Office in Nashville throughout law school and started her practice with Jack Butler and Associates. She also clerked and worked with Thomas Mink & Associates, PLLC in civil practice, whom she practiced with for many years. She opened her own office in 2013 focusing on criminal defense and personal injury cases. She served as a part-time Davidson County Magistrate and Night Court Judge from July 2015 until August 2023.

Attorney Chelsea Nicholson has handled numerous jury trials in her practice and has obtained great outcomes and verdicts for her clients. She has tried and handled murder cases, rape trials, drug cases, sex offenses, high profile robbery and kidnapping cases, DCS administrative hearings, over a 1000 pounds of marijuana trial, where her client was acquitted, and numerous DUI cases and trials. She has worked with experts challenging misidentification, DNA science, coercive and wrongful confessions within interrogations, and challenging rape kit findings and procedures.

Chelsea Nicholson also practices personal injury. The firm has settled many cases and obtained good outcomes and results for clients who have sustained serious injuries within automobile accidents.

Chelsea Nicholson represents Dismas House, a nonprofit holistic treatment provider in Nashville. She helps all of the residents get their driver’s license. She files Motions and argues for their costs to be lowered or waived across the state and has for the past 5 years. For this, she received the Father Jack Hickey Changemaker Award in 2025 from Dismas House.

Her hobbies include traveling and spending time with her family and fur-babies, who she loves taking to the dog park. She came to Nashville in 2001 after receiving a soccer scholarship from Trevecca Nazarene University where she played soccer prior to an injury. She is originally from the small town of Trenton, Tennessee where she grew up in the Dairy Queen her family owned and operated.
